Update: I attended MMI from January of 2003
through February of 2004. I was a Harley mechanic from March of 2004 through September
of 2007. While I enjoyed my time as a "wrench", I chose to rejoin the hi tech industry
where I work as a software developer for Ea$yDraft.
MMI is Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, and is the only technical school endorsed
by Harley-Davidson. They also teach those students interested in the imports (Honda,
Suzuki, Yamaha, and Kawasaki), but I went for HD. The curriculum consists of a 27-week
course that all students take, after which the classes in your specialty begin.
The HD courses are another 36 weeks. So for HD  students, it's a total of 57
weeks of school (63 weeks if Early Model elective is taken).
I know that when I was looking for information on MMI, there was not much available
other than what the school provided. These pages are an attempt to show the view
from a student who attended the school, as well as provide information for other
prospective students. Follow the links (to the left) for detailed info.
I do have a lot of material on these pages, so while
I don't mind receiving e-mails with questions (the purpose of this site is to be
helpful, after all), it is a little annoying to be asked stuff that has been clearly
outlined here. Please take the time to read through these pages!
